SDXL is the open Stable Diffusion XL base, and its value here is not raw quality — Flux and Seedream both beat it — but the ecosystem attached to it. Years of community LoRAs target SDXL, and this endpoint accepts them, so a specific art style, character or aesthetic that exists as a public adapter can be run directly.
At 26 credits a render it is also among the cheapest options on the site, which makes it viable for the volume experimentation that finding the right LoRA weight actually requires.
Base SDXL is an older architecture and looks it against Flux — softer detail, weaker prompt adherence, and it cannot write text. The LoRA support is the reason to be here.
