Flux + LoRA vs SDXL Fast
Both run LoRAs, and the adapters are not interchangeable — a Flux LoRA will not load on SDXL and an SDXL LoRA will not load on Flux. So in practice the adapter you want usually decides this for you.
Where you do have a choice, Flux + LoRA gives clearly better base image quality and prompt adherence for 210 credits against SDXL's 26. SDXL's advantage is the size of its adapter ecosystem: it has had far longer to accumulate community models, so obscure styles are more likely to exist there.
Choose Flux + LoRA if
- Your adapter is a Flux LoRA
- You want modern image quality with a trained style
- Prompt adherence matters
Choose SDXL Fast if
- Your adapter is an SDXL LoRA
- The style only exists in the SDXL ecosystem
- You are testing many adapters and cost adds up
