Seedream v4 is what to use when the image has to read as a photograph rather than as a render. It is noticeably better than the Flux family at the two things that give AI portraits away: skin, which keeps pores and subsurface warmth instead of turning to airbrushed plastic, and light, which falls with the softness and directionality of a real source.
It also takes free-form pixel dimensions up to 4,096 on a side — the widest sizing range of any model here. Every aspect ratio in the picker renders at exactly the shape you asked for, which is not true across the board; models that only accept a fixed ratio enum quietly snap your request to the nearest one they support.
Photoreal is its instinct, and it will drag a stylised or illustrated prompt back toward realism. For flat illustration or graphic work, Flux Krea or the Grok models fight you less.
